Mindfulness helps us to discover more emotional resilience, acceptance and kindness by learning how to pay attention more fully and appropriately. The most effective way to begin to practise mindfulness and meditation is to do a course over a number of weeks. Learning and practising as part of a group is very supportive, especially as a key part of the course is to meditate and do other mindful exercises between sessions.
Your tutor will be an experienced mindfulness practitioner and teacher.
Overview and outcomes
The 8-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course introduces the practices of mindfulness in daily life and meditation. Each session has a different theme with its own handout and specified home practice, along with relevant guided meditation mp3 audio tracks.
No special equipment is necessary, just chairs to sit on. If we come to you, we need a bigger space with mats to allow for lying down as well as movement exercises.
With these simple but effective practices to use in your daily life, the course can significantly alter how you meet stress, anxiety and depression, and re-discover your ability to enjoy life.
